Lovely Miriam Haskell double-strand choker.
Features shiny jet-black multi-faceted beads with decorative hook closure.
Approximately 13” long and may be extended to 16” by using the 3” beaded extender.
The oval Miriam Haskell stamp establishes this piece as circa 1950s.
Miriam Haskell jewelry is hugely popular and highly collectible. Ms. Haskell (1899-1981) opened her first boutique in New York in 1924, selling unusual hand-made pieces. A contemporary of Coco Chanel, Ms. Haskell’s designs were among the most creative and celebrated pieces of the 20th century.
The black coating on one bead has a tiny chip on the back (last photo), but it isn’t visible when worn. The MH stamp is slightly discolored. The hardware may have darkened over time, adding a cool vintage cachet to these designer beads.
